Welcome to this chronicle of culinary and life experiences, memories and reflections.

This is the blog  that I previously wrote at An Indian Kitchen in France.

Then, it began to occur to me that this present name would suit it better because this space – the table at which we eat – is where we come together as a family as well as with friends for the meals that I write about, and the conversations which are as much the stuff of memories as the food itself.  As Shri once said about what the pleasure of eating together means to him – khana kum, baatein zyada (it is more about the conversation, less about the food).

This table is also the place where I actually do all my writing – about our family meals, our favorite foods, the  how and the why thereof , other stuff that interests me and the memorable events of our lives (such as the donkeys in springtime, pictured above)- so the name began to seem appropriate in a literal sense too.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy browsing here.  Leave me a comment or share your thoughts if you do.
